My wrist hurts. I sleep on my left side - all the time - and I cross my hands over my chest but I invert my right hand - I've done this for-ev-er. It's genetic. My mom did it and at some point she had to get braces to keep her wrists from bending. WELL my freaking wrist HURTS. And I can't make it stop. I may need to go buy braces.
Moving on.
Pat and I go through phases where we seem to consume a lot of alcohol. Not all in one sitting, but frequently. Most of the time we're not even going out to buy drinks - we're just in situations where we're having a drink or two. We are NOT getting drunk all the time, just consuming more beer or wine than we normally do - and for the most part I've felt like CRAP the last week. But I've also blogged twice - so I'm thinking "I drink to blog" - right? Just so you don't feel compelled to call CPS - we're not drinking irresponsibly or putting our children in danger.
The other night I made ONE drink while I was working - a simple, low cal and what I thought was not all that bad from an alcohol consumption standpoint martini - this was when I blogged about my key lime pie - which by the way made it home WARM.... long story. But not worth the wait. Well APPARENTLY I made like a triple. And halfway through I decided to finish it and in the end my face was numb. I went to bed shortly before MIDNIGHT?! (WHAT!) and woke up at 5:30 to go to Jury Duty feeling awful. AWFUL. OY. So I arrive to find out my case was a DUI. REALLY? The Irony. Granted, NO I don't drive drunk, nor was I drunk when I got to court - but if I wanted to lie and pull the "drinking is deplorable" card, I couldn't do so feeling like I over vodka-ed the night before. Since that night I've not vodka-ed...
On another note.... WHO has mastered the art of Momming? Not me - but I feel like some of you have much better ideas than I do. BTW - if you've mastered if and your child is NOT potty trained, I don't want to hear from you because the truth is that everything you think you know will go out the window as soon as you begin potty training.
And finally...
Why is it important for my baby to read? (by the age of 1.5/2) I feel as though the US is in constant catch up mode with other countries so they want our kids to read prematurely and then something happens when they get older that will negate their IQ - like in the book "Flowers for Algernon" - I don't want to prematurely educate my child only to have it go backwards and thus shortening their life... I think we need to start a campaign "Illiteracy for life" - who's in?
Seriously Final Thoughts:
I'm NOT looking forward to election season - the idiots come out in droves to frustrate me
The end.
